For many, a past cannabis-related charge is more than a line on a record—it’s a barrier that follows them for years, limiting access to jobs, housing, education, and financial stability. Expungement offers a path forward: the opportunity to clear that record and reclaim what should have always been within reach.

At Wyld, we believe that progress in cannabis must include repairing the harm caused by its criminalization. Through Wyld Works, our commitment to restorative justice is rooted in action—supporting expungement efforts that create tangible, life-changing outcomes for individuals and communities.

In 2025, that commitment translated into meaningful momentum. Through our partnership with Clear Clinic, over 450 expungements were completed. These are not just numbers; they represent real people gaining access to employment opportunities, stable housing, and a renewed sense of possibility.

Organizations like Clear Clinic play a critical role in this work, providing free or low-cost legal support that makes expungement accessible to those who need it most. Without this support, the process can be complex, time-consuming, and financially out of reach for many eligible individuals.

This work is part of a larger effort to break down systemic barriers created by decades of inequitable enforcement. While legalization has created opportunity for some, too many people—particularly those from disproportionately impacted communities—are still living with the consequences of outdated policies. Expungement is one way to help close that gap.

We know that meaningful impact doesn’t happen all at once. It happens case by case, record by record, person by person. And while there is still more work to be done, each expungement represents a step toward a more equitable future—one where second chances aren’t the exception, but the expectation.
